The paranormal team of a reality show about haunted houses is on the brink of cancellation due to low ratings when they discover (in their last episode) that the house they're about to film in is truly haunted.

The homeowner, Will, is being tormented by the presence of a spirit due to his guilt over the accidental death of his son. In order to rid the entity, the television program sends a ghost hunter who fails to eliminate it, so Will ends up sacrificing everything to free his son's spirit.

In the end, to protect Will's privacy, the show's host decides to erase all evidence of what happened before airing it, pretending it was all a hoax... but perhaps it's already too late.
